BTCL at a glance

‘Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL)’ is a reputed telecommunication company in Bangladesh. The institution started in 1853 as the ‘Posts and Telegraph Department’ of British India. According to the Ordinance of 1979, the institution emerged as a government body as ‘Bangladesh Telegraph and Telephone Board (BTTB)’. According to the Telecommunication Policy 1998, the company was converted into a Public Limited Company “Bangladesh Telecommunication Company Limited (BTCL)” by issuing an ordinance on 1st July, 2008 AD.
